Kamara Pelion

Nestled in southern Pelion, this 19th-century stone residence—lovingly known as “Kamara”—embodies a profound story of Greek heritage. Once surrounded by vineyards and olive groves, it stood as a center of local wine and olive oil production, safeguarded dowries within its walls, served as a strategic HQ during wartime occupations, and later became a clandestine base for resistance fighters.

Between May 2020 and May 2023, the house was meticulously restored by Ioannis Pappos and Litstone Object, bringing craftsmanship and historical integrity back to life. Traditional construction techniques were revived: hand-applied mortar (“armos”), restored wood-staircases, original fireplaces, and even a four-hundred-year-old medieval gate, all lovingly preserved. The restoration harmonizes local heritage with subtle contemporary comforts (heat pumps, energy-efficient windows)—creating a tranquil, luxurious sanctuary that respects its storied past.

Surrounded by a dreamlike coastal setting, with lush stone terraces, rustic ovens, and Mediterranean gardens, Kamara invites you to step into history and savor authentic Pelion charm—where every detail whispers a chapter of time honored by the land.
